UOC Rule Changes

New Rule #1 — Career created fighters capped at 100 effective June 8th, 2009

After some debate, testing with staff and enough PMs to do the forums over the UOC staff have come up with a solution to the issues regarding stacked CAFs.

– Career created fighters will be allowed.

- Effective June 8th, 2009, all created fighters will have their overall stats capped at 100. This means any created fighters with an overall rank of 101 or higher will be ineligible for UOC league play.

Reasoning

Over the past few days the UOC staff went through several tests using both career and none career created fighters. After testing it was found that using non career created fighters only was not a viable option. Our tests showed that by adding all stats to defensive techniques and none to offensive techniques resulted in an overwhelming advantage against a player who was using a balanced fighter. Stacking any one technique and using just that technique is, well, unstoppable unless the fighter your are fighting matched the opposite stats. It was also concluded that th “fun factor” of using non career fighters was very low due to lack of moves, slow game play and overall boring fights. There are too many glitches and exploits players can use to create a disadvantage for their opponents.

The reasoning to cap fighter stats to 100 is because this league consists of 1500 fighters. Less than 1/4 of the members on this site are able to stack their fighters to 110-115 overall stats where over 3/4 of the fighters have an unfair disadvantage not being able to devote the hours required to do so. this would created a very unbalanced atmosphere here. We decided to implement this cap to make it fair for all, we understand many worked hard to achieve their high fighter stats and we welcome you to go crazy with that fighter online. But we want 100 or lower overall stats in the UOC so it comes down to whom is the more skilled fighter.

JUBE ADDS:
To the people who have overalls of 101-120. I personally apologize if you have to do career again. I am in the same boat as well but its honestly for the best. Me and grimz spent about 4-5 hours testing a myriad of options and this is the best thing we could come up with to allow career characters and keep the field level.

We tested created CAF’s, superhuman cafs, stat limited cafs, and cafs capped at 100. Superhuman cafs were just too all over the place when faced with a 90 overall and stat limited career cafs were just too hard to police and create.

Created Cafs were the worst of the bunch. During my tests I found multiple ways to exploit this. The worst case scenario being creating a caf with zero offensive stats and 80-90s in each defensive stat. This crated a 70 overall who was slow but could win any ground fight. I faced about a dozen of fighters and won 11-12 of those. All in a very dull way. This was just in my time testing. We feel this could get out of hand fast as players found better stat combos that were as far from realistic but worked. Eventually we would just have people “speccing” their character in these manners.

The decision did not come lightly as we debated for the last 4-5 days about this in vent. I hope you guys understand we think its for the best.

To check your CAFS overall while in career mode, save and exit. Head over to exhibition and find him. Its the only way to check his overall while you are still leveling him up.

New Rule # 2

Submission cancellation game exploit

Fighters in the UOC caught using the game exploit of starting a submission, cancelling, redoing the submission, cancelling….. and finally getting the submission will be found guilty of using a game exploit. The penalty for this offense is a 30 day suspension and forfeiture of the match at hand. We will not tolerate this type of cheating.

I hope this sheds some light and stops the 100 PMs ive been getting as well as the 30 posts on the forums. We are doing what we can to make this fair for everyone.

First of all i want to thank…god
jk, thanks guys, this is very cool in my book, cause when creating my fighter i went for the balanced approach and i was very pleased with the result, my guy has no stat under 70 and his highest is 81 with an overall of 94, i dont understand why you were allowed to make a fighter with an overall of over 100, that is just silly, the first time i saw it i was like wtf, how high is the scale, but anway you guys rule

Thats sounds great to me!! I guess it’s just one of things, people are always going to find ways of beating the system, and getting around stuff, just to get an unfair advantage, and take the whole thrill and fun of fighting in a proper league.

    Good decision!!!!!!

Joker, since it says league play will not be allowed over 100. Does this mean that the ladder system will be taking this effect as well. I was confused on this because i remember reading it did not effect the ladder. A clear cut answer for this question would be great. Thanks a lot UOC team

  8. scott says:

how can you estimate what your overall rating will be by the end of your career or just trial and error

  9. p says:

Any new on UOC Pro for non-career cafs?

  10. Ockthniel says:

How exactly will this be policed? It isn’t like you can go on a webpage and see somebody’s ovr rating. And if somebody loses to me and gets mad and reports me as having an OVR 101, how will you know? ( I don’t by the way. I have a legit 94)

  11. The-MF-Joker says:

does this effect ladder matches, i must know

  12. p says:

    this doesn’t effect ladder matches.

  14. I think there is a problem with your host. I was getting an error thing at the bottom of your site. Neat article though. Good luck.
