UFC 116 Results and Payouts

I know its a week late but deal with it.

UFC 116, predicted to be one of the biggest and most bad ass events in recent memory came to a conclusion after a roller coaster ride from hell for Lesnar fans. Jumping right into the main event, we saw the seemingly unstoppable Lesnar taking on the undefeated 5 XL glove Carwin. After a one sided first round which saw the underdog Carwin (those two words very rarely side by side) beating the living hell out of Lesnar for 5 straight minutes, Lesnar came back with an arm-triangle choke mid way through round 2 to take the victory. What more can I say? The fight started the way I predicted but who the hell thought Lesnar could throw out an arm-triangle choke. Me not being a fan of Lesnar had to give the man props for taking the beating he did through round 1 to come out and look so good in round 2.

As if the main event wasnt enough, MMA fans were treated with a fight for the ages with Chris Leben and Akiyama. This fight left me simply speechless with 2 men beating the living hell out of each other for almost 15 minutes. Ive said it once and ill say it again, that Leben can put on one hell of a fight and this was no exception. Once the dust and blood settled, we saw the Crippler pull a fantastic triangle choke on the worn out Akiyama, did anyone see this coming?

All I can say is that with the last few UFC’s mediocre at best, we were all in for a treat in this one. Event results and payouts are presented to you below. Bring on UFC 117!
