UPC Meets UOC

The Undisputed Pick'Em Championships has been a mainstay on the UOC boards since they first began. The popularity of this has now led to the UOC expanding the activity into what will be known as the UOPC. Members now will not only be limited to UFC cards with the UPC, but they will also be able to participate during UOC events.

For those not familiar with the UPC, it is a fight picking league where contestants are matched up in a head-to-head style format similar to a regular UFC fight. A card for the UPC is also made similar to a UFC event with a main event, main card, and prelims incorporated.

As for the actual format, the "fighters", or participants, choose a winner of each fight on the UFC card, along with the round and method at which the fight will end. If the challengers don't believe the fight will end in a TKO or submission, they will also have the option of choosing a Unanimous or Split Decision. Five points are awarded for a correct fight winner with two bonus points rewarded for the correct round and another two rewarded for correct method. The bonus points are not awarded if the wrong fight winner is chosen.

The UOPC will be run by EzekelRage and myself, H2Beau. It will begin in the coming week with UOC 15 as the focus. Look for signups for UOPC 1 to coincide with signups for UOC 15, beginning this Friday and ending Sunday afternoon.

So the UOPC is separate from the UPC? If so, how do I sign up for the UPC?

You just sign up for the UPC in their threads when they make them. Look for UPC 15 soon for the UFC 104 card. I'm pretty sure they aren't taking anymore for 103.

And yes, UOPC and UPC are seperate.

Sounds good. But what about the guys who are in the UOPC card? They can't pick a winner on their own fights can they?

I like this idea. I was a huge fan of it when Ezekel brought it up and disappointed when el-vocero shot it down. Glad to see someone following through with it.

sounds like a bad idea, people can tell each other which finish they're aiming for. say im participating in uopc, mainevent tells me he's gonna try to finish by sub, giving me an advantage for that fight. whats to stop camps doing stuff like this?

obviously if your camp member asks you how you're gonna try to finish you're going to tell them.

WEW has a point there as well as the only real concern I had look how fast people fight after the card is released. That would leave very little time to post results.

U wont be able to pick ur own match. I doubt a fighter would risk their UOC match trying to make their rank improve in the UOPC. A person will usually back their team anyway. We will be doing the main events fights. which are about 20 each event, 10 for 360 and 10 for PS3. We wont be doing the whole card. We can also set a deadline for wn da picks have to be turned in...........like the following midnight or something of that nature.

i guess that can be our second belt...we were looking to have another belt for the upc

so it could be

upc title - for reall mma events

uopc title - for uoc events
