New 32 Team Tournament In The Works

The UOC Staff today has began talks of starting a new official tournament. With the failure that was the Camp Battle, it's understandable that the staff might be reluctant to bring in a new camp based tournament. After much discussion though, it's now believed that they have come up with an idea that will still allow a team concept but work much more smoothly.

The new tournament will be comprised of thirty-two teams. Two people will make up each team to bring in a grand total of sixty-four participants. The format for this is rather simple. One member on each squad would face off. If for some reason the two teams are split 1 match to 1, each team would pick who they'd want to face in the tiebreaker. Each match will be done with a MW Career CAF.

This tournament will also be a Pool based tournament. Four teams will be in each pool, thus creating eight different sets of brackets. Deciding whether or not the pools will be round robin or double elimination has yet to be determined. The winner of each pool would then move on to the Quarterfinals.

Also, it's currently believed that each camp will be able to send in four different two man teams. If you're not on a team, you'll be taken into consideration also. The team selection process for you though has yet to be determined. You'll get a fair chance to be involved though.

The hope is that this tournament will start in the next two weeks. This will give people plenty of time to make a new CAF for this event and also give teams a chance to fully think out their squads.

Because of the tiebreaker, yes. Everyone needs to be in the same weight class.

Currently I think the plans oonly have it for 360 because there just isn't enough for ps3 right now. Maybe a smaller version for ps3 can be done.

It doesnt have to be 64 people, consider this an experiment. If we split this up per division I dont think there would be enough to do it. It would be a 4 team bracket in the divisions since you would need 2 same class from each.

There will be a real prize for this one for the winning 2 fighters as well as a web prize for the winning camp (promotion on the boards, plus recognition as the first camp war winners.

If you're a free agent basically, I would think that you could team up with another free agent or someone from a different team that wasn't already in the tourney. That's got to be talked about though.

Trust me I know the pain in the ass that the career mode can be, thats why Im trying to offer as much incentive as I can. The prize im still working over (want to come up with something cool) but ontop of the prize there will be the recorded wins and promise of 5-10 UOC fights. Should be an awesome event!

F**K I have spent 3 weeks creating CAF's in other WD, the only CAF I don't have is a MW. What are the odds? I was trying to fight having to go through career one more time but I may just have to bite the bullet on this one.

I really hope that you guys do a PS3 tournament. Don't hold Xbox failures over PS3 members. We didn't even get a chance at a camp tournament. I say you guys change it up for while.

Every time something new happens it always starts with 360 and if it fails PS3 doesn't even get a chance. I say start with PS3 this time and work your way to 360.

It says that free agents will be taken care of. 64 players are going to be involved. 15 from each weight class in an event would be 75 people. I'm sure 11 people won't want to participate, so yes, there should be room for the guys without a camp.

I noticed people bring up the idea of breaking off the camp loyalties for this. If you do that, you take away everyone's chance to choose their partner. You could easily have the best two just choose to partner up and run through everyone. That wouldn't be fair. So if you take away camps, you take away some freedoms.

h2 i did read the opening announcement. From what i took of it, people not in a camp would b brought into consideration. Like if there were anymore open slots they would b used 2 fill em etc
