Top 10 Members of 2009
Now realistically, I know this list is possibly going to cause some heated debates. You could actually probably take a Top 100 list for the UOC and still leave off great members. Nevertheless, this was possibly the most debated topic during the entire night of the UOC Historical Committee meeting (isn't that a catchy name?). Again, I apologize to some of the countless veterans that I know belong up here.
10. Badr Ramsay- There have been moments where he has stirred things up in the UOC, but he's also been a valuable asset to the community. There is no telling how many guys Badr has sparred with and he's also brought about valuable information about the game and caf making.
9. Widow-Maker187- Similar to Badr, you probably can't count the number of people he's sparred with. I think almost every person looking for help is answered by him with his gamertag and the offer to spar. Not imporant, but he's also 2nd in post count on the boards to another top 10 member.
8. Bucket- He has tended to be a polarizing figure in the UOC but also has helped out a lot with the site. He ran the 360 rankings for a long period of time and has brought about constant debate to the boards, specifically with his camp "Team Gauntlet".
T6. Ozura- How many CAF's has this guy actually created? If you need help thinking of a build to fit your style of play, this is definitely the man to go to. His help with CAF creating is not to be overlooked and has earned him a spot in the top 10.
T6. Grasshoppa- Not heard from quite as much as he used to be, but he was the creator of rankings. His LW Rankings thread last for an extremely long time and eventually led to the creation of a thread for 360 and PS3 rankings.
5. PIRATE or NINJA- He has over 800 more posts than the 2nd place Widow-Maker in post count. I know that's not a huge deal, but that tells you his dedication to this site. He's also been appointed a CS of the Gaming Section and has created tons of activity on there.
4. Shogun1028- Want to know what is going on in the world of Mixed Martial Arts? I'm sure Shogun will be able to help you out with that. Even with a sub .500 record in UOC competition, he still shows up to the boards and brings MMA News on a daily basis.
3. ip0nder- Let's see...He created the camp lounge thread idea and a guide to the UOC that was in use for a long period of time. He also was a member of the UOC Radio crew and will soon be stepping in for a new role on the UOC News staff. The amount of work he has put into this site warrants him a spot in the top 10.
2. H2Beau- Longest tenured member on this list. Was a member of the UOC News team when Filmgeneric ran it and is now the current leader of it. Also a newly appointed Forum mod. Not sure what else I can put besides a big thanks to the committee for picking me for this spot. ;)
1. EzekelRAGE- Still a pretty new member of the staff but was a great member to the site before receiving the honor. Has run both HoF fame threads and the PS3 rankings thread. Has sparred with tons of members and was helping the staff when a title wasn't even given to him. He's the only person that deserves to be considered for this spot.
I'd like to also give a big thanks to the main staff that we didn't put up here as we tried to keep it just regular members. Jube, Nil, and even Cru for the period of time he was around have run this site admirably and built it to be the premier UFC gaming site out there. Also, Joker deserves a ton of credit for creating a site for us to come to and enjoy. Finally, Filmgeneric could have easily been on this top 10 list for his great work with the staff and with UOC Radio.
Finally, I'd like to stress again that this was extremely hard to come up with and I apologize to the great members we left off. Next time we'll have to make a bigger list.
Just a quick note, I hope to do the Top 10 Rivalries on Saturday or Sunday. Also, I will very soon come out with an application for the UOC News staff as I try and grow this to a bigger and better project. If you're interested, be on the look out!
Hope all of you have a safe and happy holidays. Merry Christmas!
