A lot of people like to taste gold and keep it. The risks of losing it seems to make them want to delay as many title bouts as possible. That wasn't the case for one person though. After recapturing the 360 Heavyweight crown at UOC 21, Superman asked for an immediate title defense. "When the rankings came out, I saw an opportunity to further cement my place among the best the UOC has to offer," said Superman. At UOC 22, he would fight the red hot B Wrizzle, who was coming off wins over Stack321style, zmclinn, and FiReMaN11d7, all of whom were top 10 fighters. The Chute Boxe heavyweight, Wrizzle, wasn't quite up to the task though this event.
Using his traditional K1 Level Kickboxing style, Superman won a mostly standup contest against the game Wrizzle. After facing a bit of a scare and getting mounted, Superman recovered to eventually score the TKO victory. "B Wrizzle did not dissappoint," said the now defending champion. "I had to bring everything in my arsenal to pull out the early second round TKO to retain the title."
Now, instead of relaxing after the impressive showing, Superman will immediately get back to training in hopes of a superfight. "I'm hitting the gym as soon as possible to begin training for UOC 23," he said. "First thing I need to do is cut weight and make sure it doesnt affect me during the fight."
The weight cutting is a bit of an understatement though. This isn't a fight that is taking place at 205 or 185, Superman is eyeing the Lightweight division. "I see Tapout and Dr. Zenga as two huge potential superfights for me," he said. "Both have the ability to bring out the best in me which is why I chose Lightweight. I also want to prove that I have my knockout power at any weight class. There's no better place to prove that than 155. I have much respect for both fighters, but one of them will learn why they call me Hands of Stone."
A bout featuring Superman against either one of these fighters is sure to be intriguing. Superman is thought of by many to be the best 360 striker in the UOC. A potential opponent, TapouT, is pretty famous in the UOC for having a great ground game and more speficially, a fantastic rubber guard. The other man going after the Lightweight crown, DrZenga, is a top Muay Thai specialist who is starting to get his name out there more and more. A fight between Superman and either of these two would likely be one of the biggest fights in UOC history. For now though, everyone has to wait for the outcome of the Lightweight Championship before the hype can really begin.
