Kings of the UOC Finally Face Off.
In the early beginning of the UOC, several fighters fought to be considered P4P Kings. Why-Eric-Why came out quickly as one of the most feared fighters. Dominating ladder competition, and quickly spreading his name. But out of nowhere one man appeared wrecking havoc in the ladder competition with a impressive 68-0 first season run. This run was so impressive that it would immortalize his name forever in the UOC as one of the greatest fighters of all time. A early indication of his future Hall of Fame run. Since then Dizzle has backed up his ladder performances with one of the most dominating runs in UOC history. To cap it off he was the first to hold two titles at the same time.
His opponent is looking to be the second man to accomplish this. Now finally facing off against Dizzle, Timbo is looking to add the HW title to go along with his MW title. Timao had a brief absence in the early going but made a huge splash as he tore through the opening MW tournament to earn a title shot against fellow GJJA fighter Dipsetz. Timbo would hit a minor bump in the road as he lost that title fight. Since then he has ripped off 17 straight wins, multiple title defense’s. In fact he has never lost a title defense.
Without a shadow of a doubt these two fighters have accomplished more than any large group of UOC fighters combined. Overall combined record of 44-3-1. 12-2 in title fights. Only one loss in a title defense out of 9 fights. Staggering stats that no other group of fighters have even came close to duplicating. These are your UOC Kings. And finally we get to see them face off.
Both longstanding members of GJJA, this UOC Fight of the Year, becomes even more instresting because they are each other’s primary sparring partners. Knowing the ends and outs of each others game. This fight will truly be a test of wit and skill as each fighter tries to reinvent himself just enough to fool his opponent on what he is going to do next.
These two could have faced off earlier, but I think what truly makes this fight epic was the long months of domination by both fighters leading into this fight. Without those scary stats this would be another tough fight for two guys. But the probability of two fighters facing off again sharing similar stats may never happen again in the UOC. This could possibly be a once in a lifetime fight. One fight that I look forward to hearing about the most. And hopefully one will record this epic Hall of Fame moment.
-Interview with both fighters
Timbo Slice (Timaobjj)
You have been considered #2 P4P fighter for a longtime. Did you ever want a fight with Dizzle to attempt to become #1? I've been wanting this fight for a while, many people overlook me in the P4P talk, saying "Diz this, Diz that". I've been quietly building up my streak, winning 17 straight fights and defeating extremely tough opponents along the way. Fighting Diz, it really doesn't matter whether you win or lose, just to fight someone of his caliber is a reward in itself.
Even though you spar with Diz alot, do you think you will be nervous to fight with this being a actually UOC event? I'd like to say I'm not nervous, but truth is this is the biggest fight of my UOC career. A fight that can put me down in UOC history. A lot on the line this fight, P4P ranking, I've been building this title shot for 4 months now, I've had many obstacles, but in the end, all road leads to Dizzle.
What has been the biggest key to your success? It's pretty well-known about my style of fighting, what the GJJA guys like to cal "Timbo Thai". I like to be relentless attacking on my opponent and using my Muay Thai to its best. Kicks, knees, punches, everything, I come with everything at my opponents. But that's not my key to success. I believe, surprisngly, that my ground game wins my fights. Many people overlook it in my fights and try to take me down right away, but when they do get that takedown, I think I have the ability to reverse and eventually achieve mount, where I do a butt load of damage.
Your 1-1 vs. Dipsetz, Grimsan was unbeaten, with some of the top P4P competition retired, do you think you would still be #2 had some of those guys not left yet? There’s too many ifs and buts, those guys retired, nothing we could do about it except speculate. I sparred with those guys all the time, it was always back and forth. So honestly I don't know what my status would be.
After Diz is there a fight you would like to have with a UOC member? BUTCHERTHEWEAKK, he's my friend, he's my sparring partner, but we both know we can't stay friends forever, and that our paths will eventually meet.
If you and Diz fought ten times what do you think the outcome would be? It'd be 9-1 to him. But this fight is gonna be the 1.
If you become HW Champion, do you think you can hold the title as long as you have in MW, with a more stacked division? It'd be very tough to defend 2 belts simultaneously, but I do have faith in my ability to be able to defend them both for a long time.
Dizzle
Biggest fight in UOC history, even though you and timao spar do you think you will feel added pressure with this being a actual event? Alil bit ya, Timbo's a beast. Im the one that gave em the name Timbo Slice actually , cuz i saw his potential when he went through Dizzle bootcamp. This cat has since turned into a monster! So now its kind of the the Student versus the teacher situation, but i cannot look at timbo like a student anymore. No where near it... I can't say im fully the blame for his skills either tho, i jus gave him a few key flaws to fix and kinks he needed to work out, and he went to work. Mainly, because that's what we do here at GJJA.... We go to work, and we get it in
With your recent loss to GG, and some controversy in the league as to were he ranks. Honestly do you feel he has earned the right to consider himself in the mix of you and timao even though you and timao have accomplished 5 times as much? I definitely think as far as skill level, he's well beyond proven himself. Now when u say in the mix of, i guess it would matter what you mean exactly. Skill lvl wise, hes definitely up there. Me and Timbo are future hall of famers though. We've given this league so much, and around to watch everything blossom. I personally have had a few UOC firsts under my belt, and have been on the top in more than a few people's eye. GG isn't on that level yet, achievement wise. 8-0 is a huge accomplishment tho, and I have no doubt he will soon be as respected as me and Timbo both
If you fought GG again do you think you would retake your LHW crown? Haha, well I gotta say, I figured you would ask such a question. And I'm well prepared to give you an answer. That answer is absolutely. Our fight was one of the best fights at UOC 23, and with good reason. I did good damage, and he obviously did good damage. Both of us came out of the cage badly beaten and bruised. But GG didn't show me who could dominate me in that fight. He actually had to pull out from behind. And that he did with a very good gameplan, and did massive damage to my body at the end of the first round, and all through the second. Never once did I feel overwhelmed though, and next time I will be more conscious of the damage he is doing, and where it is being applied. GG, im comin for my belt back, and best believe.... I'm goin iiiiin! Hahaha
What do you expect in your fight with timao? I expect a good fun fight. As you said Timbo is actually my main sparring partner at GJJA. So he knows me probably better than anyone else at the camp. This is going to be interesting for that fact. But it goes the same way in reverse. So do either of us really have the advantage? I'm not too sure. Hmmmm..... I guess you all will have to tune in to see!
If timao beat you, that means both your titles gone. What would your plans be? Another good question i must say. And i actually have a very passionate answer for you. Long ago, i actually posted in a thread, right after i got the HW belt actually and was already crowned as LHW champ. I said that I would have to have 3 consecutive title defenses as HW champ, AND maintain my LHW belt, before i could retire. If i lose to timbo whats going to happen? I'ma retire... lol those is jokes, but in all seriousness, im a competitor. And i need to compete no matter the situation. I feel like Randy Couture, I mean, the guys old. And he's got some losses under his belt that took some serious wind out of his sails. But did he stop. Hell no. I'm obviously not the guy that gets the belt, and quits because he's on top. Im obviously not the guy, who takes a loss on his streak, and goes home. And im DEFINITELY not the guy, to let someone take my pride home with em.... With that said Aries, I will be around for a long time. Untill the fans get sick of me, until my dusty old bones wont break faces anymore. Until my arthritis won't allow me to knee anybody else in the face... I aint going nowhere
I felt it was important to do a write up on this fight. For one without a shadow of a doubt this is one of, if not the biggest fight in UOC history. Funny thing is neither fighter talks a lot. I think without the article this fight could even fly under the radar a bit. Neither fighter is much on trash talk or hype. Another reason why not only are these two of the most feared fighters, but two of the most respected fighters. If the UOC lived on another 10 years, the odds of having a repeat fight, between two well accomplished, well respected and humble champions may be near next to impossible. Both fighters have set excellent examples of what the UOC stands for. Neither fighter could not have represented there team any better than they already have. I wish both the best of luck, and look forward to hopefully seeing this fight and at least hearing the outcome.
