An interview with the PS3 Champions of UOC 33: Execution.

Lightweight Champion

Forum Name: illz
Real Name: Chris
Age: 26
Hometown: Hobbs
Playing out of: New Mexico
PSN ID: I_illz_I
Debut: UOC 2: Emergence (as LHW)
UOC Record (as of UOC 33):4-0
Camp: Xtreme Venum (formally World Xtreme MMA)

In the past you have come so close to getting a title. At both "UOC 17: Brawl" and "UOC 21: Blitz" you lost to PainTrain in LHW contender bouts. At "UOC 19: Meltdown" you lost to Dizzle in a LHW contender bout. Then, at "UOC 26: Vigilance" you lost to Mr GG22 in a title fight.
Looking back at all the missed opportunities, how do you feel now being the first PS3/LW UOC Champion of the 2010 season?
I feel great. It's been a long time coming. I've had my ups and downs while fighting in the UOC. I plan on being a dominate figure from here on out.

You moved from LHW to LW at UOC 27: Bio-Hazard. Do you miss fighting in LHW at all?
To answer your question, no. I feel you have to be more of all around fighter in the LW division. Not to take anything away from the guys at a heavier weight, but once the fight starts at LW you better be prepared to put in some overtime.
I plan on capturing belts in each division where a camp mate doesn't hold the belt. I have my sights set on a WW title if my camp mate JJM is unable to capture the title with-in the next few events, which I hope he does.

If at all, who in the LW division are you most concerned with taking your belt?
NO ONE! I say that with confidence not arrogance. The only thing I'm concerned with is retaining the LW title, smashing those who stand in front of me, smashing these I-Net hoes, and getting my CR stacks up!

Any final words of wisdom or discouragement you want to give to future contenders?
Eat your Wheaties preferably the newly Chris Moore box before you even attempt to take my title, IT WONT BE EASY! Shout out to my Xtreme Venum fam.

Welterweight Champion

Forum Name: PlumKnee
Real Name: Marcus Miller
Age: 22
Hometown: Naperville, IL
Playing out of: Chicago, IL
PSN ID: PlumKnee
Debut: UOC 21: Blitz (as LHW)
UOC Record (as of UOC 33): 3-0
Camp: Bad Boy Jiu-Jitsu

You made your debut late in the 2009 season and never even got close to a title shot.
How does it feel being the first PS3/WW Champion within the first 3 events of the new season, a feat you could not pull of within 10 events last season?
Last season I came into the league fresh, and wet behind the ears when it came to facing top competition and I just wasn't ready. This year, I knew it'd take hard work and really working my hardest to reach the top. I've never been the type of person that spars but I've been able to do a great job of scouting my opponents so far and prep for our fights which I feel has been the deciding factor in my run so far.
It also feels pretty good to prove all the doubters wrong. Coming into the fight, I was a heavy underdog to JJM. In a poll on who people thought would win, I was outvoted 10-18. That really lit a fire under me and drove me even more to win the title.

How much of a difference has fighting in this league made an impact on the way you play the game?
Fighting in this league makes a huge difference. Playing ranked is often not even fun or entertaining at all because you're usually facing a lot of cheap tactics with the same fighters over and over. Here, you never know what to expect from your opponent and most; let me repeat that, most cheap tactics have been banned.

If at all, who in the WW division are you most concerned with taking your belt?
(Laughs) I'm not really sure about that. The question should be more like is there anybody that's ready to take my belt? Not to sound too cliche, but I'm the ultimate fighter when it comes to overall skill.
In 2 of my fights so far, I was able to impose my will on my opponent and take the fight where I wanted, when I wanted, and both of those opponents have held gold before. In my other fight, I was able to adjust to my opponent and beat him at his own game. So I can do it all to pull out a W.

Any final words of wisdom or discouragement you want to give to future contenders?
I'll reiterate something that I said before the season even began, and that I've already partially accomplished; I'm going to be the first, and last PS3 Welterweight champion of the 2010 season.
The only thing I want to know is when I'm going to start getting some respect around here and be recognized as one of the best. Before the season started, everyone said that the only way I would be able to win fights was by submission. Well, three fights into the season and I'm already 3-0 with all knockout victories. What do I do now? I think now I'll become even more dominant and start using my subs too (laughs).
It's going to be a long season if you're planning on fighting me!

Middleweight Champion

Forum Name: championbreed1
Real Name: Cristian
Age: 18 (19 soon)
Hometown: Netherlands
Playing out of: New York
PSN ID: championbreed1
Debut: UOC 6: Mayhem (as LHW)
UOC Record (as of UOC 33): 3-0
Camp: Slaughterhouse MMA

Your first title was as LHW, after you took the belt from jdmdriver88 at "UOC 14: Extertion". You then lost the title at "UOC 20: Revolution", never to be seen again. How does it feel to have a belt once more and be the first PS3/MW Champion of the 2010 season?
Damn, I didn't even notice I held the title from UOC 14 - 20. That's a long time. It feels good to actually represent season 1 being the only true veteran from last season fighting for a title on the PS3. I take pride in that, specially seeing as all these new young cats seem to think they're the best. (laughs)

Like illz and Plumknee, you too made your debut in the UOC as a LHW. What made you decide to switch to Middleweight for the 2010 season?
Well, me being in LHW last season for so long and having accomplished what I did, I felt the need to explore other weight classes and I've never been a fan of HW, so MW was closest and it was also a team decision.

If at all, who in the Middleweight division are you most concerned with taking your belt?
I've never been concerned about fighting anyone. Never have, never will.

Any final words of wisdom or discouragement you want to give to future contenders?
I can talk about humility, but I'm not humble. I mean, if you say, I'm humble, you've just contradicted yourself. But I'm trying to be, man, I'm trying so hard.

Light Heavyweight Champion
Forum Name: Illuminatus9
Real Name: Antonio Guyton (Thomas is my dad's name)
Age: 30
Hometown: Grand Rapids, MI
Playing out of: West Fork, AR
PSN ID: TonyGuyton720
Debut: UOC 10: Milestone (as LW)
UOC Record (as of UOC 33): 3-0
Camp: Xtreme Venum (formally World Xtreme MMA)

Last season, you got a title shot at "UOC 20: Revolution", but lost. Since then you had not gotten that close again, until now. How does it feel being the first PS3/LHW Champion of the 2010 season?
First off I was a little embarrassed that I lost to a insta. Not to the fact that I lost to DoubleA. I think at that point and time I was just here fighting, wasn't all about really winning. I was wondering what weight class I would want to fight in this year, so I bounced around. LHW was the last stop and I like it. How do I feel about being the first LHW/PS3 Champion? I feel fuking great, but then it kinda lost its luster because I have to defend so quickly. But that's how it goes so I'll just try to do my best and win this fight to prove I can handle the pressure.

You have fought in LW, WW, HW, and now LHW. Do you feel that each weight class has it's own pros and cons to them?
Yea, they all do in a way. It's to much to go into detail so I'll try to make it short.. LW is fun cause the fights last longer, more skills come out there. WW is pretty much the same way, only difference is you get a lot more aggressive with the added strength to the speed and cardio. HW, most the power you have is the kicker there, but your slow. LHW I like it cause your not really slow but you are powerful in a good way. Even mixed, if you will. But honestly the MW division is great for people to start out in just to see how you like it. If you want more speed or power, you go up or down.

If at all, who in the LHW division are you most concerned with taking your belt?
Honestly the way the game is made makes it hard to say that. Yea I feel anyone is a threat. But mostly Toyooka1. He is a great fighter.

Any final words of wisdom or discouragement you want to give to future contenders?
(laughs) Yea! To anyone I may face this year, just make sure you stats are straight and have proof, that's just me. I'll have all my things in order so you do the same. Honor is what you fight here for, well its what I fight here for. Peace out!! And thank you HorrorGod for taking the time and putting this together. Your doing a great job. Oh and PLEASE ADMIN make the cards held at one arena please. Goodluck to all the UOC fighters.

You didn't make your debut in the UOC until just 3 events ago. And already you are the first PS3/HW Champion of the 2010 season. How does it feel to accomplish such an amazing feat?
Feels like a dream come true, took a lot of hard work and sparring with the best fighters in the game. XV, thank you.

You are 1 of 3 "Xtreme Venum" camp members to currently hold PS3 titles. How proud of your camp are you, and what can we expect to see from you guys in the events to come?
Very proud of this team. Everyone has a piece of the gold, we all worked together to get this. 2-3 events from now do not be surprised to see XV holding all 5 belts.

If at all, who in the HW division are you most concerned with taking your belt?
I'm not concerned with anyone other than my camp mates.

Any final words of wisdom or discouragement you want to give to future contenders?
Get ready for a 5 rd war.
