yeah me neither, I don´t like to use same things that other people do, but watching them sometimes gives you a few tips and lets you understand few things better, I need to google and use youtube everytime when I have no idea where I am at. Maybe when I know bit more I can stop using them and do things 100% my own way and style

just mess around and talk to people who do art, it's your best shot..

like here is a little tid bit that is sure to help you sometime.. something i like to do to finish up certain pieces. take the image, and duplicate it save your original with all your layers as a psd and then on the duplicate image, merge all layers into your background layer. you might have to do this by merging the bottom layer, then the layer ontop of it.. because it will add properties of one image onto the other if you just go and merge the layers straight down in a row. once the layers are merged, you can duplicate this layer.. desaturate it (Ctrl+Shift+U) and change the properties of that layer to "Soft Light" and then merge that layer into your background. After this, work with the color balance (Ctrl+B) and you'll be amazed at what you can do with such simple things.
