I’ll come right out now and be perfectly honest with you — I don’t watch UFC. I have no idea who any of the fighters are, regardless of how ultimate they may be, and I have no idea why any of these people want to get into a big metal cage and start punching each other in the face. I was not the right man to send for this preview, but I was the only man.
So, how does UFC 2009 Undisputed rank for a gamer who actually doesn’t care about UFC? Surprisingly well, actually. THQ has taken what it’s learned from years of producing WWE games and created a simple yet surprisingly robust and deep combat system that actually helped to make me just that little more interested in UFC itself. Yes THQ. and Dana(ufc) look as if they’ve gotten it right. It being something for you and I to build on and become involved with on a deeper level, as a gamer or fighter a lot of what draws us to a sport or game isn’t normally the super fast bout, round, or level that we see but that steady ever changing back and forth battle that gets us to say I like that or that rocks I wanna buy/watch/do that. In a side note I hope they stick with this title and have steady meaningful updates and add-ons.
I will admit that I watch more MMA then I should…(I know this because I’m still upset that Dana signed Akiyama’s greasing self)…And this game is sick!!!!the transitions…the use of range…the random KO’s…it is exactly like the UFC…
